Description architecturale :

La chapelle est située au sud-est de la terrasse du château, au bord des douves, en face du colombier. De plan allongé à vaisseau unique, elle est terminée par un chevet plat.

Elevation extérieure :

L’édifice de petite taille est couvert d’une toiture en pavillon surmontée par un lanternon. Il est doté de très peu de percements.

Étapes de construction :

Le château a été construit dans la première moitié du XVIIe siècle pour la famille de Morell d’Aubigny. Antoine de Morell, comte d’Aubigny, a conservé la chapelle déjà existante sur son domaine. Hormis la construction du pavillon nord au XIXe siècle, le château et ses dépendances ont peu évolué.

Histoire :

Les seigneurs d’Aubigny se sont fait représenter en orants (terre cuite et pierre) au cours des XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles dans l’église d’Aubigny.
